Med Trips offers three different options: Dental Elective, Pre-Medical Observership, and Medical Elective Placement, each designed for practical exposure, community engagement, and cultural immersion.
Where is the placement based?
Placements are based in Cusco, one of South America’s most historic cities and the gateway to the Sacred Valley and Machu Picchu.
Who can apply?
Students and graduates who are looking to gain practical healthcare experience, while making a community impact, and immersing themselves in Peruvian culture.
Will I be supervised?
You will shadow experienced professionals and learn through real-world exposure appropriate to your level.
Do I need to speak Spanish?
Since Spanish is the official language in Peru, we recommend participants to have at least an intermediate level of Spanish before joining the placements. You are recommended to improve your Spanish level before coming and we also offer online Spanish course for any participants interested.
What cultural experiences can I expect?
You can experience life with a Peruvian host family, engage with local traditions and daily life, and explore Cusco’s rich heritage.
