Rooms are shared in every destination. Depending where you go that means single beds or bunks — Ghana is bunk-bedded throughout, Nepal rooms hold three singles, Thailand is a mix. A private room upgrade is available in most locations for a supplement. Scroll down and you will see exactly what you are getting in each country.
What the accommodation is — and isn't

Accommodation questions, answered
Is accommodation included in the price?
Your room and your in-country support are inside the programme fee — there is no separate accommodation invoice and no deposit withheld. Meals are included in most destinations but not all (Greece is self-catering), so check the destination detail above or ask us before you book.
Will I have my own room?
Rooms are shared in every destination — with other students on the same programme. A private room upgrade is available in most locations for a supplement; tell us at booking and we will confirm whether your destination offers it.
Who else will be staying in the house?
Other Med Trips students — medical, nursing, midwifery, dentistry, physiotherapy and pre-med, usually from several different countries. Most students say the house is the part of the trip they remember most.
Can you cater for my dietary requirements?
Where meals are provided, yes — tell us your requirements when you book so the in-country team can prepare before you arrive. In self-catering destinations such as Greece you shop and cook for yourself.
How far is the accommodation from the hospital?
Typically 15 to 30 minutes. Your coordinator shows you the route on day one and travels in with you until you are confident.
Is it safe?
Every property is in a residential area we know, is visited and checked by our team, and is gated or staffed where local conditions call for it. You get a full safety briefing on arrival and a 24/7 emergency number.
Can I stay somewhere else instead?
You can, though the fee is not reduced because accommodation is bundled. Most students stay in the house — it is where you meet everyone. Talk to us if you have a particular reason to arrange your own.
What should I bring?
Bring your own towel. Also pack scrubs, a stethoscope, a travel adaptor, insect repellent where relevant and any medication you need. We send a full packing list once you book.
