The Dental Elective Placement location is in Athens, and you can choose to intern for a minimum of 2 weeks up to 12 weeks, as per convenience.

Intern Roles & Responsibilities

As an intern for the Dental Program in Greece, you’ll have the chance to observe and shadow dental procedures alongside dentists, nurses, and other staff. You’ll also participate in the daily routine, witnessing various cases and specialties.

Depending on patient availability, you’ll get to see different dental cases, such as Dental Public Health, Endodontics, Maxillofacial Surgery, Oral Surgery, Orthodontics, Pediatrics, Periodontics, Prosthodontics, and Radiology. Majorly, interns will be shadowing the professionals and observing their daily schedules.

Participants will step into the day-to-day workings of busy dental clinics, gaining a front-row view of patient care in action. Through close observation and interaction with skilled professionals, you’ll see how dental teams collaborate to provide high-quality, patient-focused treatment.

Key elements of the program include:

  • Shadowing dentists and other dental specialists during consultations and treatment sessions.
  • Discovering the tools, technologies, and techniques shaping modern dental care.
  • Following the clinical workflow to understand how practices manage operations and coordinate patient care.
  • Exploring multiple specialties within dentistry to gain a well-rounded understanding of the profession.

This is a shadowing program, and participants will not perform hands-on dental procedures. The emphasis is on observation and learning from skilled professionals.

Requirements & eligibility

This placement is perfect for:

  • Pre-dental students aiming to strengthen their applications with valuable shadowing hours and real-world clinical insights.
