What you do on a nursing elective in Thailand

Your week centres on shadowing qualified nurses; supervised basic care within competence. You attend ward rounds, observe assessments and procedures, and assist with appropriate basic tasks under the supervision of local clinicians. The exact mix depends on the hospital and your stage of training — Med Trips’ in-country team scopes this with you before you go.

Is a nursing elective in Thailand supervised?

Yes. Med Trips works with vetted hospitals and your placement is supervised by local clinicians, with an in-country team available 24/7.

Will I be able to assist, or is it observation only?

You learn primarily by observing, with supervised assistance on basic tasks within your competence and within local regulations. You will not act beyond your training.

Does Thailand need a visa?

Is insurance included?
