Med Trips exists because organising a hospital placement abroad on your own is hard in all the wrong ways: unanswered emails, unclear supervision, and paperwork your university won’t accept. We’ve been arranging supervised healthcare placements abroad since 2007, and Med Trips is the specialist division built to do one thing exceptionally well — clinical experience abroad that counts.
Every elective comes with a named supervisor, rotations agreed before you fly, medical insurance included and the sign-off documentation your university actually asks for — all at one clear price, with your booking deposit deducted from your total programme fee.
We hand-pick the hospitals and clinics we work with — government hospitals, teaching hospitals, community clinics and rural health posts across 12 countries — and we’ve worked with many of them for years. Placements are structured to be genuinely useful on both sides: shadowing and assisting within your scope of training, under local professionals who choose to teach.

From a single placement to thousands
The group was founded to bridge the gap between students and communities abroad, placing its first participants on a project in India.
Starting from India and Nepal, programmes extended worldwide — to Peru, Costa Rica and Ecuador, and African countries like Ghana, South Africa and Tanzania.
The group joined the WYSE Travel Confederation and attended its international conference in Spain — raising the bar for responsible student travel.
Won the prestigious GoAbroad Innovation Award for technological advancement, letting participants manage their trip from any device.
A major milestone — more than 10,000 students placed within a span of eight years.
A decade in the industry, with new structured placement and experience programmes introduced.
Expanding the overseas footprint, a UK company and office were established to serve UK and EU students.
The group joined the Year Out Group (YOG) in the UK, an association of approved gap-year and placement organisations.
