Die Arbeitszeiten der Praktikanten im Programm sind in der Regel Montag bis Freitag von 11:00 bis 20:00 Uhr. Die Wochenenden stehen zum Sightseeing, Ausruhen und Entspannen zur Verfügung.

Als Praktikant im Zahnmedizinprogramm in Griechenland hast du die Möglichkeit, Zahnbehandlungen gemeinsam mit Zahnärzten, Pflegekräften und anderem Personal zu beobachten und zu begleiten. Du nimmst außerdem am Tagesablauf teil und beobachtest verschiedene Fälle und Fachgebiete.
Je nach Patientenverfügbarkeit werden Sie in verschiedenen Bereichen der Zahnmedizin betreut, beispielsweise in den Bereichen Zahngesundheit, Endodontie, Kieferchirurgie, Oralchirurgie, Kieferorthopädie, Kinderheilkunde, Parodontologie, Prothetik und Radiologie. Praktikanten begleiten die Fachkräfte in der Regel bei deren Tagesablauf.
Die Teilnehmer erhalten Einblick in den Arbeitsalltag geschäftiger Zahnarztpraxen und erleben die Patientenversorgung hautnah. Durch genaue Beobachtung und Interaktion mit qualifizierten Fachkräften erfahren Sie, wie Zahnarztteams zusammenarbeiten, um eine qualitativ hochwertige, patientenorientierte Behandlung zu gewährleisten.
Zu den wichtigsten Elementen des Programms gehören:

Dies ist ein Hospitationsprogramm, und die Teilnehmer führen keine praktischen zahnärztlichen Eingriffe durch. Der Schwerpunkt liegt auf der Beobachtung und dem Lernen von erfahrenen Fachleuten.

Abholung vom Flughafen
Praktikanten in Griechenland müssen am Sonntag ankommen, da die Unterkunft ab der Nacht von Sonntag auf Sonntag vor dem Starttermin am Montag abgedeckt ist. Bei der Ankunft werden die Praktikanten begrüßt und zur Unterkunft gebracht.
Orientierung
Vor deiner Ankunft erhältst du eine Willkommens-E-Mail mit Informationen zur Stadt und dem Praktikumsort. Außerdem erhältst du eine interaktive Karte mit wichtigen Orten. Wir erstellen eine WhatsApp-Gruppe, in der du vor deiner Ankunft und während deines Praktikums Fragen stellen kannst. Bei deiner Ankunft geben wir dir eine Einführung in die Wohnung und die Nutzung der öffentlichen Verkehrsmittel.
Unterkunft und Verpflegung
Die Apartments sind komplett möbliert und verfügen über alles, was Sie brauchen, wie Haushaltsgeräte, Küchenutensilien und sogar eine Waschmaschine. Sie teilen sich das Apartment mit 1 bis 4 Praktikanten gleichen Geschlechts aus verschiedenen Programmen. Jedes Apartment verfügt über Einzel- oder Doppelbetten und hat insgesamt 1 bis 3 Zimmer. Sie teilen sich ein gemeinsames Bad, eine Küche und ein Wohnzimmer. Alle Apartments befinden sich in Wohngebieten in der Nähe der U-Bahn und in der Nähe von Supermärkten, Restaurants und Cafés. Mit der U-Bahn erreichen Sie den Praktikumsplatz in etwa 30 Minuten.
Die letzte Übernachtung in der Unterkunft ist Freitagnacht der letzten Woche, so dass die Praktikanten am Samstag abreisen können. Zusätzliche Übernachtungen können auf Anfrage im Voraus gebucht werden und unterliegen der Verfügbarkeit.
Mahlzeiten sind nicht im Praktikum inbegriffen und Praktikanten haben Zugang zu günstigen Supermärkten, um Vorräte zu kaufen, oder können auswärts essen und die weltberühmte griechische Küche genießen.
Hinweis: Die Abbildungen zeigen eine Beispielunterkunft. Die endgültige Unterbringung kann je nach Verfügbarkeit der Apartments variieren.
Freizeitaktivitäten
Praktikanten haben nachmittags und am Wochenende freie Zeit, um die Umgebung zu erkunden und eigene Pläne zu schmieden. Sollten Sie Hilfe bei der Planung der Wochenendausflüge benötigen, stehen wir Ihnen gerne zur Verfügung.

Eligibility and Preperation

Who can apply for the program?

Interns must be 18 years or older at the beginning of the program. Pre Medical students, Medical and Nursing students can apply for this internship/elective. Participants joining the Medical internship program need to provide additional documents such as Resume/CV, Passport copy etc, details of which will be provided. You must be physically fit and in good health at the time of joining the program.

Yes, students should consult their doctor or travel clinic for recommended vaccinations before travel.
Accommodation and Living

Can I know more about the accommodation and food arrangements?
-
Interns are provided accommodation in fully furnished apartments.The apartments are fully furnished with everything you need like appliances, kitchenware, and even a washing machine. You'll share the apartment with 1 to 4 interns of the same gender from different programs. Each apartment might have single beds or double beds, with 1 to 3 rooms in total. You'll share a common bathroom, kitchen, and living room. All apartments are in residential areas near the subway and close to supermarkets, restaurants, and cafes. It takes about 30 minutes by subway to get to the host site.
The last night of the accommodation is the Friday night of the final week, leaving interns free to depart on Saturday. Extra nights of accommodation can be arranged in advance, if requested, and are subject to availability.
Meals are not included in the internship and interns have access to affordable supermarkets to purchase supplies or can eat out and enjoy the world famous Greek cuisine.

Interns have afternoons & weekends free to explore and make their own plans. There is a lot to explore in the city of Athens as well as other beautiful parts of Greece.

What kind of hospital/clinical experience will I get?

Placements are primarily observation-based but tailored to student level (pre-med, nursing, or medical). Students shadow professionals in departments such as surgery, pediatrics, emergency, physiotherapy, OBGYN, and more. All students need to give preference of 3-4 departments of their choice. Depending on the preference and internship/elective duration department allocation shall be done.

Can I perform medical procedures?

Due to local regulations and ethical standards, students will not perform hands-on procedures. However, they will observe, learn, and gain insight into patient care, local health systems, and medical practices.

Visa requirements depend on your nationality and destination. We provide guidance during the pre-departure process.

Is airport transfer included?

Participants are provided pickup from Athens International Airport Eleftherios Venizelos (ATH). Interns are required to arrive on the Sunday between 9am and 6pm. Pickups outside this time frame can be arranged at an additional charge.

How do I get around during the program?

Interns in Athens use local public transport such as taxis and metro train for commuting between the accommodation and hospital placement.

What are the recommended inexpensive airline options to fly to Greece?

For intra-Europe travel, the cheapest are Ryanair, Wizz Air, easyJet, Volotea, and sometimes Aegean if you need a bag. For long-haul, the budget-friendly options are Scoot (from Singapore), Pegasus (via Istanbul), and TAP (via Lisbon), or just combine a cheap long-haul into Europe with a low-cost European carrier for the last leg.

We partner with modern hospitals where English-speaking staff are available. All students are required to have travel insurance that covers medical care abroad.In case of any emergency, the local team will provide all necessary support and assistance to you.
