If you have a specific area of interest, include it in your application to help align your placement with your career goals, though placements depend on availability.

  • General medicine

  • Gastrointestinal

  • Midwifery

  • Orthopedics

  • Cardiology

  • Oncology

  • Neurology

  • Pediatrics

  • Nursing

Interns may rotate across departments to gain a broad understanding of healthcare priorities. Supervision is provided by local healthcare teams, including doctors, nurses, and department leaders, who guide interns through their responsibilities and learning experiences.

Although French or Arabic proficiency is not mandatory, language barriers are common. Interns should adopt a proactive attitude toward communication challenges, considering language lessons to enhance their experience. Adaptability, flexibility, and strong communication skills are essential for integrating effectively into the local healthcare system.

Hands-on patient interaction is not guaranteed; rather, the focus is on learning through observation and assistance. The first week typically involves orientation and acclimatization, offering time to understand the placement, ask questions, and build rapport with supervisors. Internship experiences vary based on the intern’s background, duration of placement, and departmental availability.

Approach the experience with an open mind, willingness to learn, and readiness to adapt, ensuring a rewarding and insightful journey into healthcare in Morocco. Medical placements are located across the Rabat region and interns can expect to travel 10 - 30 minutes from the accommodation to reach the placement.
